Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.
--- Deut 8:5 (NIV)
Dear friend,
It is of vital importance to know the order of priorities God gives us to live a successful and victorious life. When people go through hard times or life trials, they wonder where God is and what He is doing. Many times God permits troubles to come our way in order for His will to manifest. Through hard times, God prepares your life for the best.
There is a time in life when I urgently needed money more than anything else because of the kind of life I was leading. One day while I was in my room praying, God asked me if I was really ready to handle one million dollars. Indeed I wasn’t ready because I had no plan for one million dollars. Sometimes we ask for things that are good but not essential. Many people end up losing their lives because they received more than they were able to handle. God wants us to be ready for His promises. You need a wife or a husband but the question is; are you ready? You need to be a pastor but are you really ready for that calling?
God promised Israelite a land that flowed with milk and honey. A land of freedom; A land where they could be free from the whips of the evil taskmasters of Egypt. However, the Israelite were not ready to handle the promise from God. A journey which would have probably taken two weeks took the children of Israel 40 years to get there and you can wonder how many made it.
While God is willing to bless you and to fulfill His promises, He also needs you to be prepared. You must be ready to handle God’s promises or blessings. This requires you and me to accept challenges and also to be guided by God. Whenever trials come your way, consider it joy and not a time to curse God. God has better plans for you and what He needs from you is a heart of obedience. Remember this: “ Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you”
I love you,
Apostle Yoshua Masasu
